Military Spouse JD Network

Military Spouse JD Network

Military families typically move every two to three years, often with tours overseas. That often kills the careers of women lawyers who are obligated to take a new Bar Exam with every move. The Military Spouse JD Network (MSJDN) was formed in Summer 2011 by two military spouses, Mary Reding and Rachel Winkler, frustrated with the challenges of maintaining a legal career that seemed incompatible with the military lifestyle. They formed MSJDN to advocate for licensing accommodations for military spouses, including bar membership without additional examination, as well as network with other military spouses with JDs. The membership of MSJDN has now swelled to over 1000 members and supporters. You can help by joining the group, advocating on behalf of the group, or hiring one of the MSJDN women who have amazing credentials.
